Annular pancreas in elderly male: a case report

Annular pancreas (AP) is a rare congenital abnormality in which the ventral portion of fails to rotate with duodenum during embryological development, thus causing remain partially or fully enveloped around duodenum. The actual incidence AP unknown, as many cases are asymptomatic and undiagnosed. Adults may present variety symptoms suggestive gastric outlet obstruction, gastrointestinal bleeding, pancreatitis, biliary obstruction. Surgery continues diagnostic “gold standard” for AP, but imaging techniques such CT, MRCP (Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography), ERCP (Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) EUS ultrasound) can now be used make diagnosis. We report case 65-year-old gentleman who presents obstruction was diagnosed by CECT (Contrast enhanced computed tomography) MRCP.
